  • This class will take on “Culture and creativity in an AI world,” which will be our working course title.

What does it mean to be creative? Can AI be creative?

Our course will be an exploration of what creativity means and how it works (if it does at all, as the skeptics would point out). Throughout, we’ll consider creativity through the prism of AI. It’s become a useful, everyday tool for all of us — but it’s also highly fraught, raising questions around authorship, plagiarism, and more fundamentally, what it means to be creative and who can be creative.

Throughout the course, we’ll therefore seek to better understand creativity as a phenomenon — and we’ll also explore how AI works, collectively developing tools for deploying AI in ways that are effective, fair, and help support each our creativity journeys
