This course aims to facilitate students in integrating and applying the knowledge and skills they acquire through the MSocSc (Sociology) programme. Students will conduct a research project in a group under the guidance of an academic supervisor assigned by the department.
Each group is required to attend eligible HKU Sociology departmental seminars and seminars in the ‘Media, Culture & Creative Cities Speaker Series’ in order to prepare a reflective memo (to be individually submitted) that reflects on the conceptualization and developments of your group’s Capstone Project. Other assessments include research proposal, project presentation and final research report. Through these activities, students develop skills to undertake cutting-edge research and apply sociological theories, methodologies as well as approaches to understand real-life phenomena in society.
